what's the funniest thing you've heard in a meeting lately.

ok, so at a meeting this morning the topic was the fourth tradition with the story about the big hospital that they were going to build with three floors and all our delusions of grandeur which is why we have to have group conscious and all that and one alcoholic said.

" I love alcoholics, if their car breaks down on the side of the road, normal people call AAA, alcoholics call the suicide hotline."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...oh, geez, so funny but so true.

anyone?

hi blue
one of the funniest things i've heard at a meeting happened
a few rears ogo, i was at my local saturday night meeting, at this meeting
we go around the room and share if we want to, at this particular meeting
there was about twelve of us there and out of that twelve six of us were called bill and as it happened we all followed one another at sharing.
well there was a new comer there, and as the last bill introduced himself and shared then passed on to the next, who was the new comer and he asked the chair if he had to say his name bill .we all laughed i think
because any one of us in the same cicumstance might have asked the same question, perhaps the fear of being different prompted that question
who knows. love in recovery smile lol hug grin BILL

HI MY NAME IS BILL AND I'M AN ALCOHOLIC

This episode that I share did not occur in a meeting but is the reason as to why I go to meetings today. Seriously stymied from the effects of alcohol at the time, of course, a male friend had asked me what my father did for a living. In a drunken slur I said "e's a solicitor." Adding after several seconds
"I weally like to do soliciting some day." I wonder what the hourly rate of pay is? I'm not a bad person, just a sick one.
