Hello Family......
Well ive been sitting here for about a 1/2 hr thinking about this meeting topic.
When i first got clean and sober and worked through my steps, it was not easy for me to share, i still had a hard time on learning how to relate to others. In some ways i became very quiet and intrverted and when it came time for me to speak i would shake, sweat and dang near hyperventelate.
It has been just in this last year that i have really been able to open up and speak freely with no problems. I think GOD was just working inside of me, to build my self esteem so i could be stronger. After working through my step 11
"GODS WILL FOR MY LIFE AND THE POWER TO CARRY IT OUT"
Spending alot of time in prayer HE did more miricles for me. I can now speak and talk and share with others with no problems. I am not afraid anymore, and i love to share and talk with others cause when i share in recovery, others share with me.....
Its nice and comforting to know others have gone through the same trials and you know your not alone.......so by me now sharing with others in recovery, my hope is that it will also give someone else the courage to be able to talk and share and it also helps me remember the awsome miricles GOD has bestowed upon my life.

"What does fellowship mean to me"?

GOD and fellowship mean everything to me. Being in a family of recovery brings me hope, love, truth, honesty of my addictions, friends and loved ones to help me through the good and bad times too. Fellowship to me is a GOD given miracle of love and strength.

Thankyou for letting me share
I wish every one much love

Sharing reminds me of how I kept those secrets for so long that made me so sick. My dark past is my greatest asset today and not something I have to keep hiddne and drink over. It helps me to relate to others the exact nature of my disease in action, and that there is hope we can recover if that is what we want to do today.

I am still processing the fellowship.

sharing with others in recovery reminds me that i am not alone in this journey. When there have been times i thought, i was alone in a feeling or situation, i found that if i shared i would usually find someone who knew how i felt, who may have been through similiar situation or feeling and how they found a solution to their problem and that would always help me. But to be honest it has taken me a long time in recovery to open up. I too was unsure about opening up to people. But better today. Sharing is important to me today.
The fellowshipping with others helps me lighten up. Thanks for letting me share.

Sharing helps me because I can only keep what I have, by giving it away. I try to share my experience with others. My advise sucks. Even I don't follow it, but my experience has proven that some things work, and others don't. Thats what I try to share.
Fellowship, was one of the attractions of AA for me. I needed friendship based on something other than the contents of my wallet, or the bag in my pocket. I found that friendship/fellowship in the meetings and other events of AA. (picnics, potlucks, campouts etc...)

To me sharing means healing. I heal everytime I share and help others heal from their wounds too. When I get up in front of people I don't speak very weel and i forget half of what I wanted to say that is why I write on recovery boards as well as speak. The fellowship means to me is that I can talk to any one in AA from around the world and they understand where I'm coming from on the internet. My face to face fellowship means I have people in my life that care about me and how I'm doing and the same goes for them. Fellowship is about support and they got your back when the world fails.

to me sharing helps me see that I'm not alone with my problems ..it helps me to feel like I belong & am accepted & if they too had the same problems & found a way out , then just maybe this too may work for me also..I know that I have to share or try to . being a shy person I sometimes have trouble speaking in front of people but the more one particpates the more you get out of the meeting .. got to treat this like medicine .. I'm sick & this is my medicine to get well

Sharing to me helps me learn how to comunicate with others.
I need that so bad.
After the stroke I had in 98,I had to learn to talk, learn to feel, and
show emotions all over again.
You folks here at the sight have helped me immensly.
I still have alot of issues, but by hanging with you folks,
hanging with freinds from meetings,I slowly find my place where
I can be ok in my skin sometimes.

For me sharing is a way of letting go, and making sense of things. Listening is one of the best ways for fellowship, also hugs and words of incouragement. Sometimes it is only a sentence I have to share and sometimes it is a lot more. Sometimes I just sit back and listen and then I hear something I need to I thank that person after the meeting. Words and actions are the best way for me to learn.

I'm with Shy, sharing is how I come to know that I belong. Many times, sharing is like throwing up poison. Like I have to say it out loud to get it out of my head.

Fellowship is where I find my Higher Power. He reaches me through my family in recovery. The people is where recovery, this program, comes to life. With out the people, its just words. It's a 'we' thing.
