Icon18 Weekly Recovery Meeting 5/6 - 5/12 - Willingness

Howdy everyone.I am writing on willingness in my recovery and what it has mean't to me.When I came into the rooms I did not know what I do now about the word willingness. It took a lot of willingness to come in ,I had to admit I was an addict and start to learn about changing my life and ways of thinking.I was welcomed when I walk through the doors.I was scared, people said HI that did not know me .Isaw they all were happy,WOW.I met a few of them over pizza after meeting. One of the men I asked to be my sponsor,I started to listen to what he had to say.Istarted to talk to people at meetings .It took a lot of willingness to get this far.I heard of a higher power they all talked about, and the GOD of your understanding.I used him a whole lot.But I have used willingness everyday of my life to stay clean and be clean. But also Honesty,Openmindedness,Willingness all go together, you have to work these three together.I know in my 35 years of active addictions,I did not know what they mean't or were.I know by practicing a few things I have found a new way to live and lots of new friends who do not use.No Matter What.Go to a meeting raise your hand share,it works if you want it to.Most of all you yourself has to be willing to come and get the help N.A. offers.

Awesome Buckberry!!!!! Flipping great for you....

For me right now, Willingness for me is "My willingness" to seek help and to admitting to the possibility of a Higher Power out there waiting to help me.. And I am willing to keep looking.....

Great topic! I remember in the beginning praying for the willingness to be willing. Today my willingness is being of maximum service to God and helping others - to give back what has so freely been given me. My willingness today stems from the gratitude I have for what God has done for me.

Willingness. I am willing to let God do what needs to be done today to take care of me. Like others in the start of my recovery i was willing to do what I wanted I soon found out that was not going to work. I had to let go. Once I did God gave me my will. Willingness became his work for me. Awsome topic!!!!!!!!!

In spanish, the literature describes willingness as goodwill, this has allowed me to see that it is only in the practicing of goodwill, that I will find the willingness necessary to be of service to God.

Icon15 Keep it simple

This 24 hour it is just having the willingness to trust and have faith that everything will be ok no matter what.
