Hi,
My name is Gretchen and I'm an alcoholic. I have been sober since Oct. 4, 2008.
I was recently diagnosed with bipolar, and am having a hard time getting everything straight, but I know I cannot drink. It was ruining everything in my life. I want to be a good wife and a good mom. I know to do this, I have to be clean. Everything was focusing on my next drink.
I am beginning my 4th step in AA, and am still struggling with giving things up to my higher power.
I look forward to any input and support anyone can give.

Hello and Welcome Gretchen! We're glad you're here! And Congratulations on your 25 days sober. That's huge!!!

I know where you are because I've been there. I was always, and sometimes still am, told to take it easy. Baby Steps at first was suggested to me.

I hope you will continue to come and share with us and we will share our experience, strength and hope with you.
