Icon16 Good News....the Gospel

November 20, 2008
“For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes–the Jew first and also the Gentile.” Romans 1:16 NLT
What is the Gospel…?
You were saved by it. You are being saved through it. You have been sealed as a promise of it. This Good News … the Gospel is the “power of God at work”. It is the “message of truth” about Christ. The Gospel is not “you” at work but God at work through you. Your life … your Gospel saved life … your Holy Spirit sealed life … is God declaring that He is not ashamed of you. He wants the Good News of His Son to be on display in your life today. It is that simple. Your only work today is “believing” the message and then living a Son-filled normal life in the world you live in. Is there anything in your life that you need to give Him today: worries … unforgiveness … relationships … children … work … “Your plans” … anything that would cause you to be ashamed of God’s saving power? God really does want your life to be lived in Him … in the life of Jesus … the Saving One. It only takes a moment…
“In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation–having also believed, you were sealed in Him with Holy Spirit of promise …” Ephesians 1:13 NASB
