That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

There’s the plan. Everything else is just the introduction to the plan, but this is truly the Gospel. This is the Good News.

Yes, God loves you. Yes, you are a sinner. Yes, you are separated from God because of that sin. You are sentenced to eternal death. Yes, God loved you enough that He died for you even while you were sinning. That’s Good News.

But, God, who is rich in mercy and grace, wants you to freely choose Him. Just as He gave man the ability to reject His perfect plan of creation, so He gives us the ability to reject His plan of salvation. We must choose Christ.

Thankfully that plan is very simple. Paul summarized it here for us in today’s verse. If we confess and believe, we will be saved.

This is not just a head knowledge, however. This is accepting in our heart that Jesus is the only way. This is turning from the penalty of our sins to the solution God has provided. This is making Him the Captain of our lives.

Have you done that? Has there ever been a time in your life when you obeyed God's Word and believed in your heart the truth of Jesus Christ? Do you know for sure that if you died today you would spend an eternity in Heaven with God? Read today’s verse again, and if you have any doubt, act on it right now, before you do anything else. Believe!
