I have attended many types of 12 step meetings over the years. Al-anon was my first program. ACA was my second. I have attended AA meetings for the last 7 years, because they were available in rural Vermont. I have been asked to not go to meetings in my town, because I am told I am not good with anonymity. I would talk 12 steps all day long if I could. I find vigorous honesty very easy. When I first walked into program, I was great at lying and had lost my higher power.

I feel very alone. My husband says I'm in the pour me's .

I am an only child, at 61 as well as from birth. My father refused to let mother get pregnant again after me, because "she lambasted you so."

Mother criticized the world. The Friends Meeting did two interventions with Mother, when she was in her seventies, for her criticisms. I feel AA has done the same for me, and I, like my mother, can not see what is wrong with me.

LOVE
Peggyann

I was like that for quite awhile but I began listening in earnest to other peoples stories and suggestions. I think it was about a year before I really started hearing what folks were saying then I realized that god was speaking to me through them. Its important to believe that you never really lose god. You just stop listening. Work the steps for yourself with a sponsor. Welcome here. This is about the nicest bunch of folks that I have ever run into on the net.

Tradition 11. we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and film.

Tradition 12. Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.

peggyannvt, do not let anyone run you out of your meetings.

Tradition 2. our leaders are but trusted servants, they do not govern.

Tradition 3. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using.

I love you, keep comming back.
