Wait on the Lord

Wait on the Lord

Today's Scripture

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you . . ." (II Peter 3:9a)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

When you are inching along the freeway in rush hour traffic, you can get frustrated, or you can decide to make the most of your time. Use that time to immerse yourself in praising and worshipping the Lord. Put on a Christian music CD and sing as loudly as you want!

The doctor's waiting room can become an opportunity for you to reach out and encourage someone else, either in person or by pen. The line at the post office – believe it or not, this too shall soon pass. Smile and be friendly, strike up a conversation with someone else in line, not only will it pass much faster, but also you will make a big difference in the life of someone you encourage that day. Just think, that may be the only word of encouragement they receive all day! Remember God has you there for a reason!

The Lord is patient toward us. So let's show a little patience towards others. Love your neighbor, even the slow ones, as Christ loves you. Be flexible and learn to go with the flow. When you do, God will begin to show you more of His peace, more of His joy and more of the victory that He has in store just for you.

A Prayer for Today

God, You are patient with me. I will remember that today and try to be slow to anger and patient with others. I will have many opportunities to practice patience today. When I am tempted to stew or complain, I will look instead for the reason I am in that situation and use it to Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
