Struggling Food Addict - Cyber Recovery Social Network Forums

Hi everyone, I'm brand-new here. I have 6 yrs sobriety for alcohol and drugs, but currently I am struggling with food addiction. I'm in Omaha, Nebraska, and there are (apparently) no Food Addicts meetings here. Actually, I've never been to a FA meeting, but with my AA experiences, I know I would benefit from interaction with other food addicts. Is posting here to request interaction with other food addicts ok? I'm new to this message board and don't wish to do things the wrong way, but I really want to talk to someone. Thanx.

Hi twilight. You've come to the right place. I too have bemoaned my out of control eating. I've gained weight since I've been out of work for 9 months. My weight has always been up and down. I too have been clean and sober for awhile, but struggle with the food. Right now I have started to school, so I have a "system" where I don't eat anything at night. That has always been key with me, if I can just refrain from eating past 5 or 6pm, then my weight tends to drop.

We care and share a lot here. I'm sure you'll meet some great people.
