Lord, my heart is heavy today
And I know you won't give me any more than I can handle
But I just have to say
Why does it have to hurt so bad
Our time on earth is so short
Too short for grudges to be held
Too short for all we feel we have to do
Too short for the many stories we have to tell
With this in mind as we go through each moment
Let's remember to always say I love you
Let's remember to always forgive and forget
Before our time is spent

THE DIFFERENCE
I got up early one morning
and rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
that I didn't have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me,
and heavier came each task.
Why doesn't God help me? I wondered.
He answered, You didn't ask.
I wanted to see joy and beauty,
but the day toiled on, gray and bleak;
I wondered why God didn't show me.
He said, But you didn't seek.
I tried to come into God's presence;
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
My child, you didn't knock.
I woke up early this morning,
and paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accomplish
that I had to take time to pray.

His Wondrous Love
I hear a tiny voice calling me
It comes from deep in my soul where no one else can hear or see
A voice with a glow of warmth and love
That tells me no matter what I will always be loved
In my darkest hours when I am lost and alone
The warmth and light of that voice shows me I can and will go on
I am a child of God and He will never forsake me
He has given me His light and love to guide & comfort me
A radiant light that shines out from me
Is the miracle of His love that He wants the world to see
I am but an instrument who humbly shares this gift of love and light
That though his wisdom and love all who walk in darkness seeking the truth will see this wondrous light

BLESSING
May God pour out a blessing
Upon your life today.
May His caring arms surround you
As you walk along life’s way.
As He has met your needs
Meet the needs of others too.
May His love be overflowing
In everything you do.
Praise be to God the Father
Who has freely paid your debt.
Now go and be a blessing
To those you love, and those who test.
Love those who would do evil
As Christ would have you do.
Desire for them a soul set free
A life, through Him made new.
May your life be a blessing
On someone else today.
Be the hands and feet of Jesus
To one who struggles on life’s way.

TURN BACK
Has not the Lord gone before you?
Has He not been by your side?
Why then do you turn away from Him
And walk in your own selfish pride?
Has not the Lord been your rescuer?
Has He not pulled you up from the depths?
Why then do you turn away for Him,
Putting His love to the test?
Oh, precious wayward child,
You prodigal son or daughter;
Turn back to the One who’s way is best.
Turn back to the Heavenly Father.
Has not the Lord God provided?
Has He not met every need?
Why then do you turn away from Him?
Open your eyes up and see,
There is nothing He wouldn’t do
To save the child He has given life.
He longs for you to come home.
He’s there for you, day or night.
Oh, precious wayward child,
You prodigal son or daughter;
Turn back to the One who’s way is best.
Turn back to the Heavenly Father.

Today I lifted up your name
Before the Lord in prayer.
I asked Him to supply your needs,
And keep you in His care.
I pled with Him to make you well,
And take away your pain;
To chase away your sorrows,
as the sunshine chases rain.
Because I know He holds you in
The hollow of His hand,
I prayed that you would know His peace,
And have the strength to stand.
If you should be discouraged,
and feel moored in deep despair,
Please know I dearly love you,
and remember you in prayer.

MOMENT BY MOMENT WITH HIM
Sometimes we so easily forget,
How unpredictable our lives may be,
We make plans for our tomorrows and our futures,
Not realizing they could change instantly.
Then one day, you wake up, and it happens,
Something occurs that’s not at all like you’ve planned,
Your life has now taken a new direction,
And it may be difficult for you to understand.
God never promised that we’d never have struggles,
That there would always be sunshine and not rain,
But He said He’d never leave nor forsake us,
And with His presence we will forever be sustained.
When God takes us from the height of the mountain,
And then places us in the valley of despair,
It’s here we can learn total dependence,
Upon the One who will always be there.
Oftentimes it’s only through the midst of the trials,
We see God works in ways we’d never have dreamed,
He accomplishes so much beyond our understanding,
And now things may not be at all what they’d seemed.
We may not know why God allowed such a hardship,
We must learn to trust in the One who knows best,
For our future is seen by Him only,
And in Him we can confidently rest.
So when the unexpected may arise in our lifetime,
And the way God is leading seems dim,
May we face it not ONE DAY at a time,
But instead, MOMENT BY MOMENT with Him.

TOUCH MY HEART
You should be my first thought
In the morning when I wake.
Instead I let my world crash in
And You get pushed away.
Touch my heart Oh God.
Let my mind be stayed on You.
Teach me Lord to put You first
In everything I do.
Your name should be the first word
That from these lips I speak.
Instead I offer grumblings;
Lord, why am I so weak?
Touch my heart Oh God.
Let my mind be stayed on You.
Teach my voice to give you praise
In everything I do.
Your path should be the only one
These pilgrim feet would cross.
Instead I wander here and there
And so much time is lost.
Touch my heart Oh God.
Let my mind be stayed on You.
Teach my feet to trace Your steps
In everything I do.
Touch my heart Oh God.
Remind me day by day
How much that I am missing
When I get in the way.

CHANGE ME
Dear Lord change not Thy will in my life,
Or trial and sorrows to be;
Renew my faith and make me strong,
Change not Thy will, change me.
Though teardrops fall when trouble comes,
Like storms on a rolling sea;
Let Thy beacon guide my ship to port,
Change not the storm, change me.
When Thy Holy Word I don't understand
And Thy glory I cannot see;
Teach my eyes, give me sight and wisdom,
Change not Thy Word, change me.
If the fruit Thou hast given me to eat,
Taste bitter and sour, I plea;
Let not my will but Thine be done,
Change not the fruit, change me.
If sometime I murmur and grumble, dear Lord,
About the cross I carry for Thee;
Keep it firm on my shoulders, but hold my hand,
Change not the cross, change me.
If You change Thy ways to please me, dear Lord,
I would soon grow cold and turn from Thee;
That You may hear my prayers, dear Lord,
Change not Thy ways, change me.
There's a valley that I must cross,
Someday Thy face to see;
Lest I forget what power is Thine,
Change not the valley, change me.

Awakening
When I awoke this morning, I looked up at my clock.
Three fifteen was all it read, much to early for my walk.
I questioned God; Why I awoke, so early on this day?
Then I began to listen, to hear what He would say.
He said; This day I've given you, That you might learn to live,
A life that's full of peace, for to others, you must give.
This life of yours, is really Mine, My vessel you will be,
To shine this light I've given you, for lonely hearts to see.
That there is joy in living, to all who seek my face.
That I am all forgiving, through My gift of endless Grace.
This is why I've saved your life, from darkness and despair.
Now be my willing vessel, show others that I care.
This gift of grace I've given you, to others freely give.
In doing so, it's yours to keep, forever more to live.

YOU ANSWERED SOMEONE'S PRAYER
I have been so weary with fear
Someone I love and hold so dear
Became ill and needed some care
You answered someone's prayer
Father I did not want to fear
I wanted my faith to be very clear
Yet fear crept in and I needed help
I phone friends and emailed for prayer
For the healing of the one I love
You answered someone's prayer
The doctor did not call when I needed to hear
That all is well and the test was clear
I begged and pleaded for you to intervene
You did Lord Jesus the test was clean
You answered someone's prayer
I stand in awe of the privilege of prayer
You are there waiting to hear
Our heartache and burdens that we fear
Thank you for answered prayer
My loved one is fine and I know that you heal
You answered someone's prayer

IF
If I live like there's no tomorrow
Why should I be surprised,
When my world falls down around me;
When all hope within me dies?
So I'll live my life in truth
And by it be set free.
I'll live life for His glory,
For the prize He sees in me.
If I love like I'm all that matters
Why should I be surprised,
When my heart is bruised and broken;
When my ears are filled with lies?
So I'll love by His example,
Give what I have unselfishly;
Seeking not the worldly treasures
But those that last eternally.

EVERYDAY I NEED YOU LORD
Everyday I need You Lord,
But this day especially,
I need some extra strength,
To face whatever is to be.
This day more than any day,
I need to feel You near,
To fortify my courage,
And to overcome my fear.
By myself, I cannot meet,
The challenge of the hour,
There are times when humans help,
But we need a higher power,
To help us bear what must be borne,
And so, dear Lord, I pray,
Hold on to my trembling hand,
And be near me today.

I ASK, IN PRAYER
One night, it seems so long ago,
I asked, "God, when am I done?"
I remember what You told me then,
"I'll let you know My son."
On bended knee, I come again,
I'm tired and I'm weak.
I need to reach and touch Your hand,
Your guidance, now I seek.
I feel this cross, You've given me,
Is more than I can bear.
I know that I can't put it down,
We each must do our share.
I know that You have placed me here,
I have a task to do.
And I have tried my best, dear Lord,
To do what pleases You.
At times my faith just weakens,
And I try to understand,
Just how much more I have to do,
To reach that 'Promise Land'.
But then again, I hear Your voice,
The answer is quite clear.
"Time is never mentioned here,
There's no minutes nor a year."
So time is just a mystery,
To God it has no length.
You take what is a weakness,
And you turn it into strength.
Although my cross is heavy,
I know I have no choice.
I'll carry on and not complain,
In Heaven, I'll rejoice.
For God so loved His children,
That His Son died for us all.
So life's cross we all must carry,
Till He gives us each a call.

When the tide comes rolling in, and the mighty oceans roar,
It can go on land so far, that is all, it goes no more.
When the storm clouds gather round us and the great big raindrops fall,
Just so much will fall to earth as it heeds the Master's call.
When the load becomes so heavy that the body cries in pain,
Remember that this too will end like the ocean and the rain.
So adorn thyself with gladness, remember God is really there,
He takes time to feed the sparrow, and He always answers prayer.

WHO WILL BE JESUS
He came home from work last night, to find that she is gone,
Now He's spending his first Sunday sitting in the pew alone,
There are whispers all around him, His heart breaks in two,
He's wondering who will reach out and help him make it through.
She has a reputation like the woman at the well,
The only love she ever knew was the kind she buys and sells.
But her thirsty heart is searching for a love that will be true,
The Savior cries for her to see Himself in me and you.
Who Will be Jesus to her?
Who'll show the love that's commanded in His word?
Will she see in us the mighty God we serve?
Who will Be Jesus to her?
Wounded People everywhere,
and when they look at us, do they see Jesus there?
Who Will be Jesus to Them?
Who'll show the love that restores Them again?
Oh, They do not need a judge, they need a friend.
Who will Be Jesus to Them? Who will be Jesus to them?

Oh Woe Is me
I sit and and think - life is not fun anymore
Oh woe is me
I can't seem to find any happiness
Oh woe is me
Might as well get drunk
Oh woe is me
Might as well get high
Oh woe is me
If your life was like mine you would get drunk too
Oh woe is me
You don't know the troubles I've seen
Oh woe is me
You don't understand the pain I have felt
Oh woe is me
You don't know the hurt I have been dealt
Oh woe is me
This use to be my thought process
Oh woe is me
Until one day when bottom I did hit
Oh God please help me
My life flashed before my eyes
Not a pretty sight did I see
I didn't want to die this way
Oh God please help me
I surrendered all to God as I understand Him
I was set free
From the prison I had entrapped myself in
Oh God thank Thee
Today when troubles and sorrow does arise
I bow down on bended knee
When my disease once again tries to rear its ugly head
I pray to God to help me
No more do I want to live in that prison of hell
From which God has released me
In God's presence I prefer to dwell
Where I find joy, happiness and serenity
Today whatever life gives me
There is no more oh woe is me
I bathe in the sunlight of the spirit
Never forgetting this precious gift that God has given me
Thank you Lord
To you I give all the glory

Faith
Faith is holding on to life,
When all around is pain;
Faith is seeing rainbows
When the sky is full of rain...
Faith is reaching out to God
When you are filled with fear;
Faith is taking someone's hand,
And feeling God is near...
Faith is walking in the dark,
And looking for the light---
Faith is knowing God is love,
And trusting in His might...
Faith is showing you believe,
And that you truly care;
Faith is searching for the Lord,
And finding Him in prayer!

TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED"
Gas prices are soaring out of sight
Where they're going is anyone's guess.
But that just keeps me closer to home
More time to contemplate I'm too blessed to be stressed.
Friends and family are constantly coming and going
Almost to the point of making themselves a pest.
But then I thank God they care about me
And I realize I'm too blessed to be stressed.
My waistline is getting thicker
To stay on a diet is my greatest quest
But I'm thankful I've got food to eat
So I find I'm too blessed to be stressed.
My body's quickly getting older
But my mind is still strong, more or less
I know I'm headed for my Heavenly home
And thank God, I'm too blessed to be stressed.
People today live in too big of a hurry
They seldom take a break to rest.
But if they just pause and think on God
They'd find they're just too blessed to be stressed.
The world's population is going crazy
It seems everyone is diagnosed as depressed.
But I thank God, He's my great Physician
He keeps me too blessed to be stressed.
Whenever life's problems surround you
And you feel like crumbling under the mess,
Just look at all God's done for you
And you'll see you are too blessed to be stressed.

GOD USES THE ROADBLOCKS
There are times when we're traveling down the road of life
expecting a good turn up ahead.
It's something we've dreamed of...or something we pursued
but we were left with disappointment instead.
For whatever reason, it wasn't our season
and our dreams were all dashed in the wind.
And we had to start over...to pick up the pieces
then put them together again.
But if we are walking in a personal relationship
with the Lord...the great God of old,
Then we have to believe He has a perfect plan
that one day we will see unfold.
And we have to believe His ways are much higher
and He is able to show us those ways.
We have to believe He is sovereign and gracious
to know He's in charge of our days.
And as much as the roadblocks & shut-doors may hurt us
they are part of our own life stories.
For it's not just successes and high points in life
where God chooses to show us His glory.
As life moves forward and new chapters unfold
God shows us a far better picture instead.
For He uses the roadblocks to send us down other paths
where He's opening His doors instead.

LIFE'S NOT ALWAYS EASY
Life's not always easy but God never said it would be,
He just said pick up your cross and follow me.
There are things to love and enjoy in Jesus' name,
or things about which we may choose to complain.
There are joys that we may share with a friend,
and there are things that we wish would quickly end.
There are times when everything seems right,
everything we see or do brings absolute delight.
There are moments we'll never ever forget,
and then some we instantly and desperately regret.
There are folks who leave an imprint on our heart,
and some whose memory we wish would depart.
There are instances or circumstances needing a choice,
we must be listening for God's still quiet voice.
Listening and willing to obey without hesitation,
so we won't be overcome by guilt or devastation.
Life's not easy but it doesn't have to be,
God promised to be with us now and throughout eternity.

Delights
Do you ever wonder
Just how Your Father feels
About you, in His Heart
Where Love is really real
Do you sometimes ponder
Exactly what God thinks
About you, in His Mind
The Mind so pure, divine
Rest assured, beloved
In you, Father delights
His heart is overflowing
With Love, day and night
For you, his precious child
With all your faults and flubs
He knows the Truth about you is
You're His, and you're so loved
His Mind discerns reality
Far different from your own
He made you in His likeness
More valuable than gold
God so delights in you, dear one
He knows you head to toe
No greater Love than His you'll find...
As if you didn't know!
~ Virjinja ~

Seconds
I'll have seconds
Of Grace, that is... not pie
I'll have thirds, fourths and fifths
Of Love ~ not gin or rye
I'll have more and even more
Of all God has in store
I'll overindulge, until I bulge
Because His Good won't do me wrong
I'll have seconds, after I go 'round
Passing out helpings to every soul in town
The banquet is heavy laden... tell me, can you see
The fountain of His Grace overflows for you and me
Have some seconds, have as many as you can
Heaping helpings of blessings ~ man oh man!
It's a feast, a celebration... day after day
Yes, I'll have seconds, and I'll give them all away!
~ Virjinja ~

Rise Up
Why are you living in bondage
Oppressed, in tyranny
You're no longer a slave, not for even one day
Rise up ~ you've been set free
Your soul has been vindicated
Don't cower fearfully
A prisoner no more, there's an open door
Rise up ~ you've been set free
The chains that bind have been loosed
Permission to live granted to thee
God's in control... stand strong, be bold
Rise up ~ you've been set free!
~ Virjinja ~

All I Had To Do Was Ask
I stood on the mountain top
Held my hand toward the sky,
I wanted to touch heaven
But I couldn't reach that high
I just needed to feel His love inside
So I climbed on a large rock
Thinking I could reach heaven then I raised my hand
But it was still out of reach
so I climbed the tallest tree
And stood on a limb that seemed weak
and bent downward as I did
But I stood tall and reached high
Trying so hard
But never touching anything but an empty sky
So I climbed down the tree, jumped off the rock
Feeling alone and sad
I fell on my knees with tears in my eyes
I asked God why was he so far away
Why I couldn't touch him when I need so much
As I knelt there crying in silence
God Said "All you had to was ask"
And God gently reached down and picked me up
When I couldn't reach up God reached down
And I touched heaven while on my knees
All I had to do was ask.

A Fortress When I Am Weary
Jesus is a Lighthouse,
A Tower in the dark.
The One who holds the lantern,
A great enduring Spark.
Like a flame that burns eternal,
He's a Torch forever true.
The One who holds the answers,
When I don't know what to do.
He's the One who holds the candle,
Over angry waves so steep.
He's the lifeline that doth save me,
In a raging sea so deep.
He's a strong and steady Pilot,
An answer to my plea.
The One who throws the anchor,
When I'm drifting out to sea.
He's a brightly shining Beacon,
Always steady like a rock.
A Fortress when I'm weary,
A Harbor on life's dock.
Jesus is a Lighthouse,
In Him I will abide.
A Hand when I am weary,
a never-ending Tide.

You are Present
O God
Whenever I serve You
Whenever I love You
Whenever I obey You
Whenever I delight in You.
You are here with me
In my speech
My deeds
My thoughts
My passions
As I do Your will
Your commands"
For I am as Your Temple
Wherein You may dwell
Shaped and directed
To be holy
By Your providence
As You are holy
And so from Your throne
In Heaven
And here in my center
Flows Your power and grace
To strengthen me
As I follow Your call
To submit.
O Lord
Be ever with me
Ever near me
And whenever I feel You are distant
Bid me
And embolden me
To surrender
In body and spirit
To Your plan
To Your word
And believe.

Doubt cries, "It is impossible! You can't, you can't go on!"
Faith softly whispers, "Yes, you can. Just trust in God. Be Calm."
Doubt cries, "Look down! Your path is steep and rough with stones and briar!"
Faith gently says, "I'll take your hand. It's beautiful up higher."
Doubt has not one thing to give but "going back" alone;
Faith has God, eternal life, and heirship to a throne!
And so, on unseen eagle's wings, these feet of clay are borne.
While faith within me sings and sings, we rise above the storm!"
