I do know today that my level of self-acceptance has grown, however I do recognize the fact there is still work to do on myself. The gratitude is that I know now that I don't have to depend upon people places and things to validate me today. God is my validation.

Thumbs up thanks, and look for my self acceptance prayor thread

Just what I needed to read today.
My sponsor (temp) just gave me a prayor on self acceptance that I think I'll type out in a thread, so look for it if you want to read it.
She told me to read it everyday.

Self Acceptance is where the main part of the work begins! If you don't accept that your powerless against drugs and alcohol, then you can never get past it. I had face the facts, and then and only then could I start to work on me? If I didn't accept it then, I would have to keep lying to myself, that I had a choice. If I could just make the right one? I had no choice, I do now, I have support that helps me make the choices now, and relapse preventative measures that help me decide not to use. If I let myself choose, then I would probably keep using. But, now I don't let me choose, my life long dream of sober life is my choice for today and everyday now!
