It works!

Hi,I'm Greg,I'mm a grateful recovering alcoholic.I would like to share arecent experience with you all. When I just had about a year of sobriety,I applied for a newly open position at my work. The interview was a disaster,I stumbled and stammered through it and as a result I did'nt get the position. This plunged me into depression and self-pity,but with the help of my sponsor and going to meetings,I was able to weather the storm without drinking. A week or two ago,a similar position opened up and I was asked to interview for it.The interview was the day before my fifth A.A. birthday.I did the job interview and I felt it went very well.Well,a few days later my director told me that the job was given to someone more experienced, but that the interview board was most impressed with me.This time there was no depression or self-pity.I realized there that it was God's will that I did'nt get the job.I shared this with my sponsor and at a meeting.I thank God and the people in the rooms for teaching me to come to this point in my sobriety, acceptance and a begginning of spiritual maturity.

Hi Greg
I applaud your new found maturity. Acceptance is the key to peace of mind. Only when I accept life on life's terms do I have peace of mind. Who knows the next position to come along may be yours. Keep up the good work. You have my support. Thanks for sharing.
