The Big Book of Alcoholic Anonymous describes the manic depressive as one of the 3 types of alcoholics (under the Roman numerals)
A manic depresive can not only suffer from extreme depressions, but can also suffer from extreme manic highs. I used to enjoy these extreme manic highs for they were almost like being on drugs. In my case I seemed to float above everyone else. I try not to enjoy these so much, anymore for coming back into reality is a disappointment. The mood swings are terrible, too.
