something to ponder
SOMETHING TO PONDER...
Love in action One night a man came to our house and told me, "There is a family with eight children. They have not eaten for days," I took some food and went. When I finally came to the family, I saw the faces of those little children disfigured by hunger. There was no sorrow or sadness in their faces, just the deep pain of hunger. I gave the rice to the mother. She divided it in two, and went out, carrying half the rice with her. When she came back, I asked her, "Where did you go?" She gave me this simple answer, "To my neighbors-they are hungry also." I was not surprised that she gave--because poor people are generous. But I was surprised that she knew they were hungry. As a rule, when we are suffering, we are so focused on ourselves we have no time for others. -Mother Teresa

My 86 year old aunt, has told me about the times of the depression. "Back in them days," she says, " We used to share a bone so we could make soup with it" Nowadays we take so much for granted, many of us have forgotten what it is like to go without, or never knew. God has given it all to us. Eventhough my financial status at the present time is ruined and I have lost my family. I still have plenty to be grateful for. God forbid, that ever changes. I used to always place emphasis on my needs, my relationship with God was one of what he do for me. Today I do my part, as insignificant as it may seem.

I tend to worry about what I do not have, instead of what I do have. Just for today, I have Jesus in my heart!
