Enable to have a good diet
I've been a vegetarian for about two months now and my diet is very...veeeery poor. I just eat junk and I need some advice. For those here on a diet, what have you done that's helped you to improve your diet and lose weight? I'm clueless.

Hi! I'm really here for a different discussion group, but I saw this group and then saw your thread and got interested. First let me say, you should talk with your doctor about weight loss.
A couple of years ago I lost a lot of weight (65 lbs.). I started in November and lost it by the following June, when I was going on vacation. I cut out all candy and soda and drank only water. I would drink a Slim Fast in the morning. Eat a good lunch (usually some kind of chicken wrap) and have a lite dinner of soup with cheese (five slices or cuts) and crackers or salad. I cut out most bread products and cut back on dairy. I also walked the treadmill everyday for about 45 minutes. Cutting back on portions, watching what you eat, and excercising really works. I have since quit smoking, so I've gained back 25 pounds, but I'm working to drop that again and lose more. I suggest you watch the things you eat and see how your body reacts. I know that when I have ice cream or whole milk products that I'm going to develop fat in my hips ~ I feel it every time I start to abuse ice cream...and I can ABUSE ice cream...lol. Because I need to have dairy, I'm now trying soy milk, it's very good and is high in iron. Your body will let you know what foods build and drop fat. It's a matter of changing your eating habits for the better and watching how your body reacts. Good luck! Brid |
