A few things come to mind in helping me to stay on the beam. One is making sure I start everyday connecting with God as I understand Him. I do this by praying every morning and reading meditations.
Another that comes to mind to help me stay on the beam is H.A.L.T. Don't get too Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired. Also exercise. It's great for both the body and mind. I exercise every day by taking a walk. Reaching out and helping others helps me also. Giving back what has been given me. When I take care of all the above I usually am able to stay fit spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. I am able to maintain staying on the beam. |

Thoughts/expecting better things
Hello, everyone!
By the time I got here, I had created a mess in my affairs. I keep getting hit with garnishments, doctor bills, vehicle repairs, etc. It's going to be a long road for this alcoholic/addict before I can start EXPECTING good things. Having said that, I know that when I look for GOD's will & stop running on self will, good things do happen. Staying connected with people in this fellowship brings support & help in staying on the beam/ doing the next right thing. It's truly a MIRACLE to be alive & sober today. GOD's grace is there for all of us if we just get humble enough to ask for help. I'm slowly cleaning up the wreckage of my past with a lot of help, not making it any worse. I'll keep trudging this road I have made for myself. With your help [and GOD's] things will get better. My reactions to life are what make me an alcoholic. I'll keep coming back.... Dirk
